What is SAP CPI?

CPI Stands for SAP Cloud platform Integration. It is a cloud based Integration Tool.
CPI is designed as an integration platform -as-a-service.(iPaaS). CPI is used to integrate Cloud to Cloud and cloud to on-Premise applications both from SAP and Non-SAP.

What are the different available tools to access SAP CPI-PI?

TMN acts as a agent between human user and the runtime components of CPI.

Runtime Node
It processes the messages.
Runtime node interacts with external systems and load balancer.

What is Content Modifier in CPI-PI?

Content Modifier modifies the content of an inbound message by changing the header or body of the message and also can add additional information to the exchange message in the form of Exchange properties.

What are the main steps in the integration Project in CPI-PI?

Once Tenant provisioning is completed(after getting Tenant Admin access),
1. Assign the required roles(Authorizations) for team members in the Cloud platform Cockpit.
2. First browse in the Discover section, if any pre-defined integration content is available for our requirement.
3. If pre-defined integration content is available, then copy it to Design section, if not then start integration flow from scratch(custom iflow development).
4.Set up the secure connections between CPI tenant and Remote systems(sender and receiver) by configuring adapters.
5. Deploy the IFlow.
6. Monitoring the IFlow.

What are the main elements of an Integration Flow?

The main elements of an Integration Flow are
Participants – Sender & Receiver
Sequence Flow -Connections within the pool
Message Flow – Connection between flow and participants)
Different Message processing steps like Content modifier, Mapping, Routing…Etc.,

What are the different authentication methods for inbound messages in CPI?
The CPI supported authentication methods are
1. Basic Authentication
2. Client Certificate Authentication( without user to certificate mapping)
3. Client Certificate Authentication(with user to certificate mapping)
